Women’s Day Center, open weekdays between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, offers hospitality and information and referral services. It is a safe, welcoming environment in which people new to Wilmington or new to Friendship House can explore options and make choices about the direction their lives are taking. Women are welcome to share a light breakfast, use the telephone, receive mail and messages. The Center staff are available to provide information on community resources as well as suggestions on resolving emergency situations.

Ashford House, Patterson House, Concord House, and Palmer House are our transitional housing programs for women who have decided they want to make changes in their lives. Ashford House and Palmer House are closely supervised and structured programs in which women can stay 3 to 6 months. From there, they have the option to move into an apartment at Palmer House, which is less supervised, offering more freedom and requiring more responsibility from residents during their 6 to 9 month stay. Our program requires that women address their personal issues such as relationships, family, parenting, addictions, budgeting, and credit. Over 90% of our graduates continue in stable, independent housing.

Alumnae Group provides a monthly support meeting for graduates of Epiphany and Palmer House, as well as for their children. Ranging from the serious to the purely enjoyable, our meetings have addressed stress, relationships, credit and have included trips to the Blue Rocks as well as an annual barbeque picnic.
