What is Transitional Housing?
Friendship House operates two houses for women, with or without children, who are employed, furthering their education, or involved in a daily Aftercare Program. These transitional housing programs are designed to support women who are serious about making changes in their lives. Many women come to us directly from drug/alcohol rehabilitation programs as well as from domestic violence shelters.
Our entry-level programs, Ashford House and Patterson House, are located on Union Street in the Little Italy area of Wilmington. Women who follow the rules and work on their issues may stay at Epiphany for 3-6 months (based on monthly renewal). If they have need of further housing and have successfully completed the entry level program program, they may move into Palmer House for an additional 6-9 months.
